Maloto’s two main projects: Mzuzu Academy and the Kwithu Orphan Feeding and Community Center were created in direct response to the specific challenges facing the communities in Northern Malawi. 

Maloto’s emphasis on local solutions to local problems underlies our participatory community development approach and focus on self-reliance.

We believe that solutions generated by the local people ensure that development remains relevant to their lives, builds on their knowledge and is sustained by them.
