Because of the dire conditions of Malawi’s education system, Maloto believes it is important to support both quality and access initiatives. 85% of boys and 93% of girls do not complete secondary school.

Maloto’s largest education initiative addresses the issue of quality. Working with local leaders, Maloto built Mzuzu Academy, an internationally accredited secondary school. The school has state of the art facilities, highly qualified teachers and most importantly excited, hard-working students.

Maloto also develops and supports after-school learning programs for primary & secondary school students. These programs enable vulnerable children to be successful students and critical thinkers.

Improving Access

Recognizing that vulnerable children have little access to attend secondary school because of costly tuition fees, Maloto started a secondary school fund to send children to school.
