Local Knowledge, Local People
 Maloto’s emphasis on local solutions to local problems underlies our
participatory community development approach and focus on self-reliance.
We believe that solutions generated by the local people ensure that community
development remains relevant to their lives, builds on their knowledge
and is sustained by them.
Our two projects, the Kwithu Women’s
Group and Feeding Center and Mzuzu Academy, were both created in direct
response to very difficult challenges facing local communities in particular,
and Malawi in general. Maloto projects are managed by local team
members and have been developed with an emphasis on sustainability and
expansion.
